Remove Locators from Tracking Area

In some cases, you may need to remove Locators from a tracking area but not remove them from the project overall. For example, if you get a large shipment of tags that you want to store in a specific area in your deployment environment which is already equipped with working Locators, but you do not want to overload the system capacity. In such cases, rather than disconnecting the Locators manually or deleting them from the project completely, you can disable them temporarily by removing them from all tracking areas while the tags are in storage.

To remove Locators from a tracking area, follow the steps below.

Note: You can also use the Locator Table to remove Locators to a tracking area. For more information about the Locator Table, please see the View & Edit Locator Settings Using Locator Table section.
  1. Open the project in the QSP.
  2. In the object tree on the left, navigate to the relevant coordinate system.
  3. Select the Locators that you want to remove from the tracking area using the object tree on the left.
  4. In the panel on the right, click the Remove from Tracking Area... button.

  5. In the window that opens, select the tracking area from which the Locators will be removed.

  6. The Locators will still be visible in the map view, but a red cross with show over them indicating that they have been removed from the tracking area.
Note: To add the Locators back to the tracking area, follow the instructions in the Add Locators to Tracking Areas section.
