Add Q-Port
Q-Ports are 8-Port PoE powered cable aggregation devices that help reduce the cost of cabling, installation & deployment. Use Q-Port planning to make sure there are enough Q-Ports planned for all the locators in the project.
To add a new Q-Port to your project file, follow the steps below:
-
Open the project in the QSP.
-
In the object tree on the left, select the coordinate system where you want to add the Q-Port.
-
In the menu bar at the top, open the Planning menu and select Add QPort. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ctrl + D.
-
A Q-Port will be added to the map view together with the editing panel on the right. A new Q-Port will be shown with the number 7 equally to the current number of free ports. The number will decrease when you make connections to locators.
-
To select locators for connecting to individual ports, navigate to the Ports section. Choose the locator from the drop-down menu corresponding to each port.
