Add Zone That Hides Location Data

In some use cases, there may be areas within the tracking area where the tags can physically go but for which you do not want to calculate and expose positioning results. In such cases, it is best that the positioning data is filtered out as early as possible. This is enabled by the Do not report location zone group feature in the QSP, which stop the location from being reported when tags enter selected zones. The feature is available through the zone group settings.

To create zones that do not report location information, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the project in the QSP.
  2. Create a Zone Group for the zones that will not report location data.
Note: For instructions on how to create a Zone Groups, please see the Create Zone Groups section.
  3. In the panel on the right, select which tags will be affected by the Hide location for setting. By default, the setting is disabled, but you an choose to apply it to either all tags or a custom selection of tags depending on the needs of your use case.

  4. Once the zone group has been created, add the relevant zones to the group. Use the object tree on the left to navigate to the zones that you want to select and then use the panel on the right to assign them to the right group.
