Add Background Image

A background image is typically your deployment environment's floor plan. It serves as a good visual aid for planning the deployment. If you choose to use a background image, make sure that you are using the most up-to-date and detailed version available.
Note: The background image does not replace the need for a thorough site survey at the deployment site. The internal structures of the building may have changed since the floor plan was drawn and additional elements (such as equipment, shelves and other large furniture) may have been added to the space. It is important to take these changes into account when planning the deployment.
There are many ways to add a background image to your project: using the New Project Wizard, using the object tree or via the menu bar. This instruction will cover the menu option.
  1. Open the project in the QSP.
  2. In the QSP menu bar, select the Planning menu and click the Add Background image option from the submenu that opens.

Note: You can add multiple background images to one project file if needed.
  3. Select the background image that you want to use from your computer. The QSP supports the following file formats: tiff, tif, gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp.
  4. Once the background image has been added to the project file, the QSP will prompt you to scale the background image. This is important to make sure that it matches the coordinate system you are using and can provide you with accurate tracking results.

Read the instructions in the notification, click the OK button and proceed to scale the background image. For more information regarding the scaling process, please see the Scale Background Image section.
